Personally, Advocacy is one of the most important duties that we have to our profession. It is in our best interests and the best interest of our future patients to ensure that dentistry in our state continues to be a profession that provides dentists with the autonomy from outside influences to provide patient-care to the best of our abilities. The future of our profession is entirely dependent on the decision to stay informed and involved that we make today. That is why I choose to take the extra time to stay educated and involved in advocacy, even when there are no guarantees that my voice or presence will make a concrete difference.
— Taylor Wilkins, UW ASDA Advocacy Chair

Our ASDA chapter at the University of Washington works closely with the Washington State Dental Association (WSDA) to advocate for dentists and patients on legislation pertinent to Washington state. Every year, students from UW combine forces with dentists from around the state to attend Dental Action Day in Olympia.

ASDA protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of dental students. The organization strives to inform students about the issues impacting their profession and provides opportunities to advocate for their rights as future dentists
